Overview

At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services heart and vascular care emergency services surgery maternity cancer care and diagnostic imaging.


Responsibilities

Two Positions:

Day Position: 9:00-5:30P

Evening Position: 5:00PM - 1:30 AM

The incombent is responsible for the operation of a shift within the Sterile Processing Department and as such, is a subject matter expert. Responsibilties include scheduling, organizing, and providing work direction to meet production goals, assuring assuring policies/procedures are maintained according to established guidelines. The Tech Lead position is part of the work production in addition to serving as liaison and resource for staff and customers regarding sterilization, processing of surgical instruments, and sterile instrument storage. The incombent serves as a role model by exhibiting positive, ethical, and moral principles, and is responsible for consistencies when working with staff and expectations and, if/when policies/protocols are not followed, will report it through proper channels.


Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma, GED, Metropolitan Test, or equivalent.

Minimum of three years’ experience in Sterile Processing to including monitoring inventory, familiarity with tracking systems, purchasing, computer systems, decontamination, and sterilization controls.
Minimum of two years’ instrumentation control.
Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST).
Ability to read, write, and comprehend written material and perform accurate arithmetic computations of moderate complexity.

Demonstrate positive guest and staff relations.

Ability to work independently without supervision.
