Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs of all office, buildings, and medical equipment required for daily operations. The position demands a multi-talented, self-motivated person to perform various jobs. These include repairs of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, light mechanical, general construction, various medical equipment repairs, and other types of work as determined necessary by management. Some clerical skills are required to maintain department records, databases and reports. Travel to all locations is required, as well as the response to emergencies. Potential on-call rotation and after hour work as needed.

  • Responds to calls for service and completes assigned work orders.
  • Performs stat, urgent, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing, systems as required.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
     Regularly inspects buildings, grounds and building equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and reports findings, as well as making corrections.
  • As required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspect and tests
    equipment/systems.
  • Responsible/accountable for the timely completion of all projects.
  • Assists in shop cleanup and other areas needing cleaning.
  • A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
  •  Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School or Equivalent.

Minimum one year of general maintenance experience required

Possesses the following knowledge and abilities: basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general maintenance skills. Understanding of building trades, healthcare maintenance, state and local building codes, ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings, maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
