Stationary Engineer - Facilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Stationary Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems that are essential for the smooth functioning of our hospital. Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and other utility equipment to ensure reliable performance.
  • Monitor and adjust control systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions within the hospital.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Facilities Management team to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent maintenance issues.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years in commercial/hospital trades with knowledge in hospital facility repair and maintenance operations required in one of the following fields; electrical plumbing HVAC controls carpentry furniture repair and assembly texture and painting experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Knowledge in Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations including the TJC DHS OSHA.
  • Fire Safety card within 90 days of employment.

This position is represented by SEIU - UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
