Occupational Therapist - Occupational Therapy

Northridge Hospital Medical Center

Per Diem Min 2 weekend days per month.

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to our patients including assessment treatment planning implementation and evaluation. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skill and the ability to work collaboratively with clients their families and other healthcare professionals. 


Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine patients' needs and goals
  • Develop customized treatment plans based on assessments
  • Provide effective occupational therapy interventions and techniques
  • Monitor and document patient progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies and techniques for continued progress

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy holding Baccalaureate Degree or higher required.
  • Academic curriculum will include coursework on growth & development gerontology & therapeutic procedures for pediatric adolescent adult & geriatric populations.
  • New applicants must present documentation of continuing education or experience. Upon annual appraisal must demonstrate participation in external continuing education.
  • Current California licensure required.
  • Recent graduates who are board eligible will be considered for provisional appointments.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Cert (AHA BLS)
  • Fire Safety cards required. (have 90 days to obtain from start date) 

Specialized Training: 

  • Clinical Instructor training prior to assignment of a full time student required.
  • Therapists wishing to practice in the area of advanced certification (PAMs hand swallowing) must present license with advanced competencies.
  • Those wishing to apply for advanced competency will comply with regulatory requirement.
  • Therapists will apply & obtain CCS paneling once one year equivalent of pediatric experience is obtained.
