Responsibilities
The Laboratory Supervisor in Blood Bank is responsible for the technical performance and for the management of the personnel in the Blood Bank department. The Laboratory Supervisor in Blood Bank must be able to work in all areas within the section. The Laboratory Supervisor in Blood Bank must also work closely with the Laboratory and Medical Directors.
- Establish effective scheduling to ensure all standing commitments are met. Manages workflow and evaluates effectiveness of assignments.
- Provides high quality effective clinical education services.
- Writes and obtains approval for any policies or standard operating procedures related to Clinical Education functions.
- Develops staff and conducts performance reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Five years of supervisory experience in a
hospital clinical laboratory setting is
required.
- A current State of California license as a
Clinical Laboratory Scientist is required,
ASCP registration or equivalent preferred.
