Responsibilities

Accountable for assisting the department and handling all requests. Responsible for the daily receipt of supplies and acts as a liaison between the department and any external/internal areas.

1. Responsible for any data entry and database utilization for the department
2. Scheduling and Staffing as needed
3. Generation and distribution of reports
4. Responsible for purchasing and invoicing of department
5. Answers the telephone, Directs phone calls, mails information as needed
6.Assists in the development and distribution of communications
7.Performs distribution and replenishment as well as inventories supplies

May be required by department assignment:
8.Responsible for addition of surgeons, anesthesiologists & allied health professions to facilitate documentation in surgical procedures. Requires mapping to appropriate Personnel Categories & Facilities. Supports surgeon specific reporting.
9.Identifies quality & compliance opportunities, Develops, recommends and Implements reporting solutions, Works with department leaders to improve compliance and efficiency
10.Supports perioperative reporting efforts, including: extracting data elements from perioperative software systems; preparing and formatting reports (e.g. Block Utilization, perioperative volume, etc.); Performs analyses as requested; aids Clarity Report development and implementation; and Responsible for generation and distribution of regular reports to perioperative management and surgeons, including graphical displays
11. Creates & writes Standardized Work Instructions & Resource Manuals; updates/modifies policies and procedures; and generates surgeon communications
12. Responsible for the analysis of Materials on the Fly data entry frequency and volume to determine whether or not a product should be added to HEMM and Epic to facilitate Material Requisitions, Nursing Intraop Record documentation, Patient Billing & Revenue Capture. Provides results to Billing Specialists to use as training/reference material;
Responsible for conversion of Materials on the Fly information in the Nursing Intraop Record & the inactivation &
removal from Materials Table
13. Responsible for the on‐going addition of new equipment to facilitate documentation compliance during surgical procedures. Documentation Supports additional cost allocation. Responsible for inactivation of equipment no longer in service. Information received on a regular basis from Clinical Engineering.
14. Creates and Maintains surgeon Preference Cards


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

*High School Diploma/GED
*One (1) year of experience
