Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Clinical Educator II provides staff development expertise in their assigned specialty as an educator expert clinician consultant facilitator change agent leader patient advocate and researcher. Each supports the clinical and professional development of their staff with a goal of achieving excellence in the delivery of evidence based nursing practice.

  • The Clinical Educator II facilitates the educational process through assessment development planning implementation and evaluation of competency continuing education and professional development.
  • In addition as a role model of professional behavior the Clinical Educator II assists in creating a professional nursing climate and supports the SRDH mission vision and values. Reporting relationship: Direct reporting to Nursing Director in assigned specialty with an indirect reporting to the Director of Education.  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in assigned specialty or as a Clinical Educator or Clinical Instructor. 
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing and Masters Degree in Nursing Education or related area or current enrollment in a Masters Degree program or willing to enroll in a Masters Degree program within three months of hire with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the Masters Degree program within three years. Will accept Bachelors Degree in a related field with a Masters Degree in Nursing.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Powerpoint.  
  • RN = RN license from NV State Nursing Board.
  • CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support - AHA 
  • Specialty certification as required based on service area. All mandatory certifications required for RNs in assigned specialty.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • National certification in specialty or Professional Staff Development. Instructor status in at least one of the mandatory certifications required for assigned specialty.
