Our staff is well-trained and highly skilled qualities that are vital to maintaining excellence in care and service. Dignity Health Medical Group – Sierra Nevada a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is a multi-specialty clinic with three locations in Grass Valley California. Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospital (Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital) we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides primary care for family medicine and internal medicine otolaryngology (ENT) hematology/oncology cardiology general surgery and neurology.


Responsibilities

The Medical Office Representative II is responsible for coordinating all patient requests for referrals and authorizations both internal and external; encounter form processing and batching; scheduling in/out patient medical procedures; greet arriving patients manage patient wait times; assist patients with necessary completion of paperwork; provide informational services registration of all patients; process incoming/outgoing calls/schedule appointments. It is also the responsibility of the Medical Office Representative II to communicate with the patients the status of their authorizations and/or referrals in a timely manner.

The Medical Office Representative II may also be asked to perform other clerical duties as needed such as support daily clinic operation goals bench marks and quality patient initiatives per departmental guidelines. This includes helping out with the front office in an MOR capacity or logging on to the phones as a Phone Receptionist.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Three (3) years experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist performing similar duties required; or an equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries.

- High School diploma or equivalent.

- Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential.

- Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment.

- Familiarity with an electronic practice management system is preferred.

- Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones preferred.

- Medical terminology preferred.

Internal/External Contacts: Patients physicians and other clinic staff internal and external laboratory and imaging staff hospital staff patient family members and vendors. Reports to the Supervisor. Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential. Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment. Familiarity with an electronic practice management system is preferred. Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones preferred. Medical terminology preferred. None required for this position.
