Overview

Founded in 1926 Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is a 334-bed acute care nonprofit community hospital located in Glendale California. The hospital offers a full complement of services including its award winning heart center, the colorectal surgery institute, a gastrointestinal program and is a Los Angeles County approved primary stroke center. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 140 hospitals and more than 2,200 care sites across 24 states, making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

Responsibilities

As the Director of our 29-bed acute inpatient psychiatric unit, you will spearhead the nursing practice and patient care operations. Your mission is to promote clinical excellence and evidence-based practices while fostering a healthy work environment that prioritizes team-based, patient-centered care. You will lead a team of 55 FTEs, overseeing their development, training, and well-being. Partnering with unit chiefs and clinical leaders, you will cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages continuous growth. Additionally, you will:

  • Manage budgets, allocate resources, assess unit operations, and identify process improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and experience.
  • Oversee the operations of the Nursing department, including the delivery of nursing services.
  • Actively participate in the Performance Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Interpret accreditation and regulatory standards and implement processes to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement goals, policies, and protocols.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
