Responsibilities

*Position will lead real estate planning for 1 or more of CSH's Divisions in the Southern US

The CommonSpirit (CSH) Real Estate Strategy; Development (RESD) business unit supports the organization in developing dynamic portfolio solutions across the Enterprise - largely focused on Market Planning, Portfolio Optimization, Real Estate Development, and support of Joint Venture initiatives. Within our Market Planning work, we focus on portfolio alignment to the Integrated Delivery Network (IDN), campus planning, market support for long range strategic plans, and strategic leasing.

The Division Director of Real Estate Planning for CommonSpirit Health is responsible for a portfolio of strategic planning initiatives and will oversee these initiatives from ideation through hand off to Project Delivery. The Division Director of Planning ensures the alignment of these strategies across markets and business lines, working across teams to review opportunities that promote innovation and modernization. The Division Director of Planning will ensure that all planning and design strategies are aligned with Division priorities.
The Division Director works closely with Division Strategy and Business Development in supporting and aligning planning and design functions associated with growth, including: market planning, campus planning and asset planning, taking into account the disruptive nature of healthcare and understanding how future trends will impact healthcare delivery. This position will be a subject matter expert in strategic planning, market planning, master planning, and strategic analysis.
This position may have Division Managers and/or other positions as direct reports.

● Partners with NRES and Division Strategy to lead a portfolio of planning initiatives which may include market
planning, campus planning, master planning, and asset planning initiatives that incorporate market dynamics,
volume projections and service line distribution/rationalization across the continuum of care.

Development of campus and asset level visioning focusing on right care, right place, right price.
● Engages with facility management on overall facility condition and incorporates finding into long term planning initiatives.
● Incorporates asset and campus development potential and into long term planning initiatives.
● Translates work products completed by strategy teams or consultants and leads the development of functional
space programs, focusing on capital rationalization and project prioritization.
● Establishes project budgets informed by the business plans and focuses on rational deployment of capital.
● Engages with Market and Division leadership in the creation of business plans and guides strategic initiatives
through all corporate approvals.
● Leads strategic consulting engagements and consulting teams, managing performance, schedules and outcomes
● Creates executive level communications, summaries, presentations, leave behinds and takeaways, including
board level presentations.
● Tracks planning engagements and aligns resources to organizational objectives.
● Provide regular periodic status reports on assigned projects and/or initiatives.
● Manages the interface with NRES and Division, aligning internal and external resources to ensure the
development of effective planning solutions.
● Develop relationships with hospital/market/division leaders and become their go-to person for planning
initiatives.
● Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional
● publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
● Supports and promotes CommonSpirit Health’s ethical & Social Responsibilities
● Consistently act in accordance with CommonSpirit Health policy and procedure guidelines.


Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.

- 10 years experience related to Healthcare strategy, planning or healthcare design and construction.

- Experience in the delivery of planning results to senior level and executive leaders including Board level presentations.

● Detailed and in-depth understanding of the trends and issues impacting the healthcare industry including specific understanding of the Integrated Delivery Network and portfolio responses.
● Experience in facilitating senior management and multidisciplinary user groups in strategy, planning, or design meetings and presentations.
● Knowledge of project delivery methods and tools to develop and integrate product line functional and space programs, master plans, conceptual design, and agency impact analysis.
● Knowledge in Clinical Process Improvement techniques and the ability to implement them into the facility special requirements.
● Experience in clinical analysis, throughput, and spatial needs assessments.
● Experience in health strategic market planning, master planning and health facility design.
● Experience assembling, evaluating, and leading project teams in complex environments and demonstrating effective decision making.
● Successfully manages project team members to achieve project goals.
● Excellent people management skills including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management.
● Displays self-confidence and inspires confidence in others.
● Handles ambiguity, manages risk, and uses contingency plans to face uncertainty and adapt to change.
● Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
