The posted compensation range of $23.81 - $34.53 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient/family teaching, provides leadership by working with physicians, other patient care team personnel, and other departments in maintaining standards for professional nursing practices in the clinical setting.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Administers nursing care to inpatient and outpatient cardiopulmonary rehabilitation participants; includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s plan of care in coordination with the physician.
- Develops individualized treatment plan of care, updating with each session and submits to physician for signature every 30 days
- Provides patient/family education and counseling for identifying risk factors and developing life-style modifications that lead to behavior change for their cardiopulmonary disease and related health issues.
- Supervises inpatient and outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation exercise training and educational sessions.
- Collaborates with other health care members (i.e. cardiopulmonary specialists, exercise physiologists, wellness center instructors, interns, etc.). When needed, triage patients for emergent or non-emergent care. Problem-solves with staff, physicians, patients, families, and other health care team members/departments.
- Interprets cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation and assesses for signs/symptoms of exercise intolerance, cardiac ischemia, or hypoxia.
- Initiates emergency procedures (including cardiopulmonary resuscitation) according to policy.
- Measures and evaluates baseline functional capacity, physical, psychosocial and nutritional status. Documents individual patient outcomes in these areas.
- Maintains knowledge of documentation requirements needed for patient’s records.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and unit function and strives to manage situations in a reduced risk manner and promote patient safety and infection control.
- Contributes to community service activities related to cardiopulmonary disease.
- Acts as a resource for other staff members, participants, and students by providing orientation/education.
- Provides input for program maintenance and development.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience | Registered Nurse |
Required Licensure and Certifications | Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa or nurse licensure compact. BLS, ACLS |
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training | Knowledge of current nursing practice, critical thinking skills, professional verbal and written communication skills, technical/computer skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, adaptability, maintain confidentiality. |
Preferred experience, skills | 2 years of cardiac or critical care experience Cardiac rhythm interpretation |
