Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. It is one of the area’s largest and most comprehensive medical centers. Dedicated to the community’s well-being our staff and volunteers provide excellence in care for our patients each year. Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip- and Knee- Replacement.


Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the manager and/or the medical director of the EKG/ECHO Departments the incumbent is responsible for the performance of 2D color flow Doppler Echocardiographic Studies to include TEE and Bubble StudyProcedures as ordered for inpatients and outpatients across all age groups.

  • Explains procedure before beginning each study, prepping patient, calibrating equipment, and accurately entering patient data into the hosptial electornic computer based systems.
  • Downloads Echocardiographic studies appropriately with proper cardiac structure visualized to determine overall function of the heart.
  • Prioritizes studies by patient status and date order. Completes study within scheduled shift .Demonstrate competence in care of neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Prepares electronic test results for physicians interpretation providing all pertinent patient data, accurately recording measurements. Downloads studies/edits appropriately into the electronic Echo Reporting System. Initiates an appropriate charge for patients account by the end of each shift.
  • Maintains proper care of equipment, including cleaning and re-stocking.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • College education from an accredited Echocardiographic and Doppler Technology Program
  • Two (2) years of experience in performing 2D color flow Doppler Echocardiograhic Studies
  • Two (2) years of experience in Adult TEE and Pediatric Studies
