Responsibilities
In keeping with Dignity Health core values an LVN II assigned to the Subacute Care Unit is a practitioner who carries out routine patient care assignments works in controlled patient situations and performs established nursing procedures for individuals under the direction of a SAU Registered Nurse. The SAU LVN III assists the RN and physician staff in clinical data collection and procedures within scope of practice.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- One (1) year current experience in an acute or long term care setting
- IV Certification
- Current California license as Vocational nurse (CT LVN)
- Current CPR (CT CPRBLS)

- Demonstrate proficient nursing skills and Medical and Ventilator skills
- Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude towards others
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with RN as a partner in the patient care team
- Demonstrates intermediate to advanced skills appropriate to the Medical and Ventilator specialty
- Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment with remaining calm efficient and focused
- Actively participates in continuing education programs unit-based task forces and committees
- Seeks opportunities for improving job knowledge and skills
- Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks and unit duties to other non-licensed team members
- Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently
- Demonstrates clear and effective written and oral English skills and objective active listening skills
