The posted compensation range of $58.94 - $89.62 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Critical Care/Emergency Educator, and in accordance with our mission and core values of integrity, compassion, collaboration, and excellence, you will serve as a consultant and resource professional by acting as educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher. You will ensure all educational initiatives align with Critical Care/Emergency Services operational goals and facility leadership priorities.
Every day you will support the development of direct-care nurses and foster nursing excellence through new knowledge and evidence-based practice, facilitating the full educational process, assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development in close collaboration with the Critical Care/Emergency Services Leadership Team. You'll leverage your clinical expertise to guide staff in delivering individualized, comprehensive care, including critical assessments, skilled procedures, and thorough patient care planning, while collaborating seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team focused on optimal patient outcomes.

- Assesses educational needs in close consultation with Critical Care/Emergency Services leadership and staff, conducting annual formal needs assessments and presenting findings and proposed plans for approval
- Evaluates educational projects and safety initiatives against agreed-upon outcomes, regularly reporting progress to Emergency Services leadership, Market Chief Nurses, and Patient Safety/Clinical Risk Management
- Revises work goals, methods, and processes to support evidence-based practice and quality care, ensuring alignment with nursing strategies, values, and departmental/facility priorities
- Collaborates with market leaders to drive 100% implementation of Critical Care/ED safety initiatives and other patient safety projects
- Reviews data and processes to evaluate compliance with safety initiatives, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies
- Supports market roll-out of safety projects and goals, and develops, implements, and facilitates learning opportunities such as Mock Codes, disaster preparedness, and critical incident simulations
Required
- 3-5 years recent acute care experience in critical care (ICU) nursing practice with demonstrated leadership experience
- Current and Active Registered Nurse: CA
- BSN Required
- AHA Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I)
