Responsibilities

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an extensive knowledge and understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrates expertise in managing multiple projects, both standard and complex, simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates superior planning and facilitation skills, the ability to identify critical path milestones and project risks, the expertise and decisiveness in resolving business problems and making decisions, and the skillfulness to identify and reset priorities.
  • Responsible for leading project team members that span across one or more business units. Provides leadership for project team by motivating project team members to commit to their responsibilities and project milestones to meet project goals.
  • Demonstrates business and operational acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
  • Leads the collection and dissemination of data.  Utilizes performance data as an opportunity to create and execute improvements.
  • Conducts a formal analysis of data and makes recommendations based on findings, to internal and external constituents.
  • Executes process improvement plans as needed to help establish best practices, standard templates, program policies, optimized tools and strong partnerships to expand and mature program management capabilities for the organization.
  • Trains and mentors Program Team, including, but not limited to, the program coordinators and program managers. Acts as the department subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues as needed.
  • Coordinates the reporting status updates regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Provides back up support to manager for Workfront.
  • Performs other responsibilities and functions as directed.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.               
  • 3+ years of previous experience with gathering requirements from the client / business and documentation.                                                                                                                                                          
  • 3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various methodologies that support that lifecycle.

Licensure:

  • 5+ years working as Project Management Professional (PMP Certified).

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Strong experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / Waterfall.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership.
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple businesses and organizations.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs, on-schedule, with quality and within budget.
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
  • Experience negotiating Statement of Work scope, work effort and deliverables (preferred).
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
  • Some travel may be required throughout CommonSpirit Health regions.
