The posted compensation range of $45.26 - $67.32 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

The System Manager, IT Strategic Enablement  will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's comprehensive IT planning and communication strategy.  This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring timely, relevant, and accessible IT information, empowering users, enabling IT teams, and strategically positioning IT executive leadership as a critical business enabler.  This role requires a blend of strategic foresight, exceptional communication skills, technical acumen, and a deep understanding of how to translate IT initiatives into demonstrable business value, particularly for executive audiences.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Communications Leadership

Develop, own, and continually refine the overarching IT communication strategy and roadmap, aligning it with IT and organizational strategic goals.

Act as the primary architect for the "Information First, Email Last" principle, driving adoption of self-service channels and minimizing unnecessary email broadcasts.

Lead the planning and execution of IT communication campaigns for major initiatives (e.g., system rollouts, security awareness, policy changes), linking them to measurable business outcomes.

Executive Communications Management

Serve as the primary communications advisor and support for the IT Executive Leadership Team and stakeholders.

Translate complex technical information and IT strategy into clear, concise, and compelling narratives suitable for a variety of audiences, including the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and all employees.

Draft, review, and edit executive-level communications, presentations, speeches, and internal memos for the CIO/CTO, ensuring consistent messaging, strategic alignment, and a focus on business value and impact.

Prepare and brief IT leadership for key internal and external speaking engagements, town halls, and executive meetings.

Develop and manage the "IT Leadership Vision & Strategy" and "IT Success Stories & Impact" sections on the Intranet, showcasing IT's value and influence.

Channel Management & Optimization

Oversee the strategic utilization and continuous improvement of all IT communication channels (Intranet, Newsletter, Chat Spaces, Executive Briefings, etc.).

Drive the enhancement of the IT Intranet as the central "single source of truth," ensuring robust content, searchability, and user experience.

Optimize the monthly IT Newsletter to be a high-impact, strategic communication tool that drives engagement and reinforces key messages.

Establish clear usage guidelines and best practices for IT chat channels (e.g., MS Teams/Slack) to ensure effectiveness and minimize noise.

Measurement and Impact Demonstration

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all IT communications, measuring reach, engagement, user empowerment, and ultimately, link to business value (e.g., ticket deflection, adoption rates, efficiency gains).

Develop and present regular communication effectiveness reports and dashboards to IT leadership, highlighting successes, ROI of communication efforts, and areas for strategic adjustment.

Utilize data from search queries, KB article ratings, and user feedback to identify content gaps and inform communication strategy.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

Manage direct reports (e.g., Business Communication Analyst, Technical Writers) or leading project-based communication teams.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to IT staff on effective communication practices consistent with the strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization (HR, Marketing, Project Management Office, Department Heads) to integrate IT messages into broader company communications and ensure targeted delivery.

Collaborate closely with IT teams (Service Desk, Integration management, Infrastructure, Applications, Security) to gather information, understand technical details, and translate them into accessible content.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors - Marketing, Communications, Journalism, IT, or Related Field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate marketing strategy, communications, internal communications, or IT communications, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience supporting C-level executives with strategic communications.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in defining communication metrics, interpreting data, and demonstrating ROI on communication efforts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex topics, tell compelling stories, and tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing various communication channels, including intranets (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.), newsletters, chat platforms, and presentation tools.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and communication strategies for large-scale technology adoption.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive information.
