The posted compensation range of $66.26 - $98.56 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Director, Divisional Infrastructure will lead reengineering and transformation initiatives in their division that will better the technology foundation enabling new business capabilities and improving patient and physician experience. They will provide infrastructure leadership that will reduce costs and minimize risk associated with technology failures and cyber intrusions. The Technology Infrastructure team has begun transformational initiatives, including reengineering the CommonSpirit network, migrating IT services to the Cloud, virtualizing services, and renewing our voice services, and this leader will be critical to their delivery.
The Director will report to the System Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering, with dotted line accountability to the aligned Division Chief Information Officer (RCIO).
A successful candidate will have the ability to engage with business owners across their assigned division(s), understand and translate the needs of the business. This person must also work with internal technology owners to understand capabilities and set strategic priorities for infrastructure investment that align with division specific priorities and opportunities.
This role will be seen as a leader both within the division and nationally within IT.
Essential Functions:
- Establish, advertise and evolve the vision and roadmap for IT infrastructure as products/service offerings to the assigned division of CommonSpirit Health.
- Identify and quantify the needs within the division for these services to deliver solutions, including internal factors such as legal and risk compliance, technology ecosystem and broader company strategy.
- Facilitate the generation of ideas/solutions for meeting demand/scale of services such as technology risk assessment, cloud architecture consultation and review, infrastructure provisioning, service configuration, access management, architecture standards, risk & legal compliance, focusing on flexible yet repeatable solutions, ease of delivery and adherence to CommonSpirit’s standards and policies.
- Adopt an Agile product mindset in creating division roadmaps for various product services incorporating concepts such as minimum viable product (MVP), continual and incremental delivery of features, business value-driven sequencing, continuous feedback loops and willingness to embrace change.
- Be seen as an ambassador and member of the governance oversight for infrastructure needs to streamline efforts for the assigned region.
- Partnering with regional and national leadership and providing input into company strategy where related to CommonSpirit’s delivery of technology solutions.
- Share and expound on the product service vision and roadmap needs with regional leaders on behalf of technical product owners and technical teams in infrastructure engineering.
- Collaborate with regional leaders and technical product owners to prioritize backlogs and coordinate across teams to manage dependencies and trade-offs.
- Coordinate and drive technical teams to introduce and further develop internal capabilities to automate and streamline infrastructure engineering activities with the goal of streamlining product services delivery on behalf of the assigned region.
- Conduct periodic review and assessment of technology capabilities to ensure alignment with future business needs.
- Develop a culture of quality and innovation to provide the benefits of technology securely and with minimal disruption.
- Measure organizational performance, developing key performance indicators that drive the behaviors and results CommonSpirit seeks.

Job Requirements
- Bachelors in a computer science, software engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- 10-15+ years of proven and progressive experience in IT including a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working with technical infrastructure or IT security teams
- 5+ years of technical leadership in a larger enterprise/professional services company
