The posted compensation range of $100.03 - $140.04 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
The System Vice President, Enterprise Application Integration and Testing COE will directly report to the System SVP, Chief Clinical Application and Data Officer.
As a key member of the Applications, Consumer Experience, Data, Digital and Delivery Team, this function will partner closely with National Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary Services, CMIO, Physician Enterprise and Division Leadership to manage the strategy and implementation of Enterprise Application Integration & EHR testing services across the CommonSpirit Health.
The leader in this role will define, promote and govern EAI standards that serve as the foundation for all Batch, HL7, FHIR
and API needs across CommonSpirit Health. The leader will manage a team responsible for delivery of 100’s of concurrent projects & enhancements, ongoing 24x7 data integration engines, EPIC Bridges / Cerner FSI, and well over 10,000 active interfaces. From a compliance perspective, this function will also be responsible for working with peers across IT to ensure ALL interfaces are covered by active partner contracts for Third Party Applications.
This leader will be expected to drive next generation EAI capabilities that correctly balance the use of traditional real-time HL7 and batch file based EAI patterns with modern microservice API based EAI patterns to support EHR, clinical application, consumer experience, and clinical enablement standardized data flows. This leader will drive transformation, and ensure that EAI aligns with the 10-Year IT Roadmap to consolidate various integration engines to standard platforms. This responsibility includes evaluating Cloud vs On-Prem platforms for data engines.
In addition to managing the foundational data needs for IT, this leader will establish an Enterprise Quality Management Center of Excellence that will define best practices, choose the right tools, and perform testing for all major programs across CCAD. Collaborate with other groups like Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, M&A and NRES (National Real Estate) to provide knowledge, expertise and skills required for all streams of testing and standardizing the acquisition and usage of testing tools.
The team aligned to this leader will play a pivotal role in the testing and deployment of One EHR (Epic Gold program) with the responsibility to oversee every stream of testing, and coordinate with all teams involved to make sure Go-Lives are as flawless as possible. This team will be responsible for onsite testing, including Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR), working closely with the Site Leadership, End User Services, Clinical Informatics and various other teams. The team COE will be used for “At the Elbow” support for EHR implementations to augment the FTE pool necessary for each wave of the One EHR program. The COE will develop reporting / dashboard for status updates to executive leadership and key stakeholder functions on go-live readiness.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute IT strategies that align with the ministry’s goals to enhance clinical applications and streamline clinical operations. Collaboratively set the technology, business, and product vision and strategy for testing and data integration with key business stakeholders such as National Clinical leaders, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary Services, CMIO, Physician Enterprise and Division Leadership that will enable CommonSpirit Health to achieve its strategic goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with IT, Clinical and Administrative leadership to understand their data integration / testing needs and challenges. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure services and IT solutions are effective and efficient.
• Budget, Vendor & Financial Management: Manage a large Investment and Operations Budget
• Product Management: Collaboratively develop roadmaps, milestones, outcomes, and performance metrics, for existing platforms, products, and services and their enhancements and new capabilities based on division and national needs.
• Testing & EAI Portfolio Strategy: Champion the best practices to drive transformation in data integration which is the underpinning of almost every project in IT and in more effective ways to leverage technology and people to test new Go-Lives and Enhancements.
• Technology Innovation: Stay up to date on emerging technologies in healthcare, data integration and testing to continually drive best in class delivery at the lowest price point.
• Team Development: Lead and mentor Directors, Systems Managers and Architects fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure IT Systems and processes comply with relevant healthcare IT regulations, including patient data security and privacy standards.
• Financial Stewardship: Demonstrate effective financial stewardship by evaluating alternatives, perform cost benefit analysis, and recommend solutions within corporate policies and standards.
• Vendor Relations: Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring optimal value and service.
• Risk Management: Implement robust cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans to safeguard patient data and maintain system uptime.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science
● Master’s Degree in related areas preferred
● 10+ years of experience in leadership roles
● 15+ years of professional experience in healthcare IT, Product Management, Product Engineering, Platform Engineering
and/or Leading enablement of Acute, Ambulatory, and Ancillary products and capabilities
● Management experience leading a team responsible for healthcare focused Enterprise Applications platforms,
application integration, and application architecture services.
