Responsibilities

The System Vice President, Clinical Ancillary & Growth will directly report to the System SVP, Chief Clinical Application and Data Officer. As a key member of the Applications, Consumer Experience, Data, Digital and Delivery Team, this function will partner closely with National Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary Services, CMIO, Physician Enterprise, National Real Estate and Regional Leadership to set the vision, strategy and execution for the full lifecycle of IT service delivery focused on implementation and operations of a diverse portfolio of clinical & revenue cycle applications.


This position will manage Application Architecture services that support the holistic needs of the Clinical Application products, platforms, and services delivery teams. The leader in this role will be expected to collaboratively develop an application architecture solution engineering practice model that supports the needs for conceptual, logical, and physical engineering models focused on aligning with our 10 year IT Strategic Plan and providing guidance to National level roadmaps for key application platforms.


This position will manage the strategy and implementation of Application Lifecycle Management processes that include 3rd Party Application Rationalization, Consolidati and new capabilities as well as consolidation, archiving and decommission plans where necessary. Under Application Lifecycle Management, this position will manage IT service delivery focused on almost 100 applications required for EPIC GOLD WAVES. The leader will be expected to collaborate with national and division leaders to develop sustainment roadmaps for platform, product, service enhancements.

This position will also manage our Growth and Strategic Development portfolio (GSD). The intent of the GSD program is to manage and implement a prioritized list of market growth and priority off-cycle projects without going through the IT Investment process. The resources required for GSD initiatives span EHR’s, 3rd Party Applications, and Data Integrations and are meant to be dedicated to smaller, high value initiatives. GSD has its own Governance process / progress dashboards used to meet regularly with Customers, Partners, and other stakeholders to share progress against their requests.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute IT strategies that align with the ministry’s goals to enhance clinical applications and streamline clinical operations. Collaboratively set the technology, business, and product vision and strategy for Application Architecture, Integrations & Lifecycle, along with key business stakeholders such as National Clinical leaders, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary Services, CMIO, Physician Enterprise and Division Leadership that will enable CommonSpirit Health to achieve its strategic goals.


• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clinical teams and administrative leadership to understand their technology needs and challenges. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure IT solutions are cohesively integrated into their processes.
• Clinical Enablement: Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and systems to enhance clinical workflows including all TPA’s integrating with EPIC Gold.
• Budget, Vendor & Financial Management: Manage an Investment and Operations Budget of approximately $75M
• Product Management: Collaboratively develop roadmaps, milestones, outcomes, and performance metrics, for existing platforms, products, and services and their enhancements and new capabilities based on division and national needs and market opportunities, at scale.

• Application Portfolio Strategy: Champion the best practices, benefits, and approaches that will successfully drive transformation into EHR & Ancillary Application Standards that will enable application archive&decommission cost savings.
• Technology Innovation: Stay up to date on emerging technologies in healthcare and assess potential applications for enhancing EHR & Ancillary application standardization, Next Generation Innovation for Enterprise Application Integration services, consumer experience and clinical operations.
• Team Development: Lead and mentor Directors, Systems Managers and Architects fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure IT Systems and processes comply with relevant healthcare IT regulations, including patient data security and privacy standards.
• Financial Stewardship: Demonstrate effective financial stewardship by evaluating alternatives, perform cost benefit analysis, and recommend solutions within corporate policies and standards.
• Vendor Relations: Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring optimal value and service for Application Architecture, Ancillary Apps, Legacy EHR Apps and App Lifecycle capabilities.
• Risk Management: Implement robust cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans to safeguard patient data and maintain system uptime.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science strongly
preferred
Master’s Degree in related areas preferred
10+ years of experience in leadership roles
15+ years of professional experience in healthcare IT, Product Management, Product Engineering, Platform Engineering and/or Leading enablement of Acute, Ambulatory, and Ancillary products and capabilities
Management experience leading a team responsible for healthcare focused Enterprise Applications platforms,
application integration, and application architecture services.
