The posted compensation range of $41.14 - $61.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
This is a remote position
The System Manager, Community Benefit Accounting and Analysis is responsible for designing and implementing accounting and reporting systems for community benefit financial data, and the analysis of that data for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Internal Revenue Service and state regulations across a national, 140‐hospital health system in service to the organization's mission and its not-for-profit, tax-exempt status.
The position works with both finance-related departments and community benefit reporting staff in community health and other functional areas from the system to the local market level to help ensure the identification, calculation, coding and reporting of hospital community benefit expenses and offsetting revenue.
Essential Functions include:
- Designs, refines and implements community benefit accounting and reporting systems with finance (financial reporting, accounting, reimbursement, decision support, tax) and related departments, including but not limited to patient financial assistance and Medicaid.
- Instructs staff on procedures for coding community benefit program expenses in financial accounting and reporting systems, to ensure well-documented internal and regulatory reporting.
- With the Senior Community Benefit Financial Analyst, analyzes community benefit financial data and related program information to evaluate its completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies and procedures, and to recommend quality assurance priorities and process improvements.
- With the Analyst, produces reports to inform community benefit staff, executives and other stakeholders about community benefit expenses and activities.
- Serves as a subject matter expert fielding questions and providing consultation on community benefit definitions and requirements, and on the organization’s community benefit policies and procedures.
- Helps to administer community health philanthropic grant programs reported as community benefit, with a focus on award budgets, payments and associated grant recipient reports.
Job Requirements
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or health administration or a related field.
- 7-9 years Non-profit health care performing similar functions, preferably including community benefit.
- Master’s degree or certificate in financial management, analysis, decision support or accounting and 4-6 years non-profit health care performing similar functions, preferably including community benefit is preferred.
- Working knowledge of CBISA community benefit reporting application preferred.
