The posted compensation range of $60.24 - $89.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

This is a remote position. 

Job Summary

The Program Director will lead and oversee large scale, high complexity programs and projects, specifically Epic implementation.  The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of workflows, implementation methodology, in-depth PM philosophy and skills and a full large scale implementation under their belt. Large scale implementations include but are not limited to key organizational initiatives like the Growth Portfolio, enterprise wide programs such as EHR implementations, Application Rationalization, and other high complexity implementations. The Program Director (PD) is accountable for meeting defined program and project objectives. They are responsible for overseeing multi-million dollar program budgets, managing a large roster of matrix resources, partnering and influencing executive level stakeholders, and balancing competing organizational priorities.  The PD plays an active role in making decisions involving processes and structures to support enterprise wide change.  The PD must have the ability to manage business sponsor relationships and navigate the political landscape. They will oversee large programs and, at times, be simultaneously assigned to multiple projects.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitates demand management practices to balance capacity with demand in support of the rolling program delivery process.
  • Owns program delivery roadmap and schedule, including critical milestones.
  • Finds creative solutions to maximize resource capacity including employees, contractors, professional services, and onshore/nearshore/offshore resources.
  • Drives excellence and best practices in multi-delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, scrum, Kanban, waterfall, etc.).  Adept at implementing appropriate methodology that is best suited to the program characteristics.
  • Owns the consolidated high-level tracking/reporting of the end-to-end investment portfolio from intake/discovery, governance, and project delivery for the committee
  • Understanding of Finance and Accounting principles in relation to project budgets, purchasing and analysis of financial results

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of & years of expereicne with a focus on Epic implementations required.
  • 10+ years of program and project management experience
  • Previous experience in Healthcare IT
  • Leadership experience managing cross functional teams. Capable of building strong relationships and collaborating with executive level stakeholders and business partners
  • Experience leading large programs, spanning multiple years, that include several interconnected projects that holistically deliver a set of program objectives
  • Experience leading programs/projects greater than $50M and staffing of 100+ resources
  • Previous experience in Healthcare IT
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred
