Responsibilities

This is a remote opportunity however candidates located in TN or KY are preferred.

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Device Security Analyst to join our dynamic Clinical Engineering Medical Device Security Team. This crucial role will directly impact the security of our medical devices, networks, and patient information. Are you ready to make a difference?

In this role, you will:

  • Protect Patient Data:Monitor for and respond to security vulnerabilities, alerts, and incidents, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Drive Remediation:Develop, implement, and manage guidance on vulnerability remediation, tracking key metrics and reporting progress to stakeholders.
  • Perform Assessments:Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments using industry-leading tools and methodologies.
  • Lead and Train:Lead projects, collaborate effectively with teams, and train staff on security systems and processes.
  • Implement and Maintain:Implement security measures, software, and configurations to protect our critical infrastructure and maintain the highest security standards.
  • Analyze Data:Utilize data analysis and reporting tools (including SQL) to track project status and identify trends.
  • Document Thoroughly:Maintain detailed records of medical equipment information and device history within our CMMS database.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using security tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis.
  • Ability to lead projects and train staff.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 1-4 years experience working in IT Security or related field.
  • 1-2 years experience working in the healthcare/medical environment.
  • Experience working with specialized medical equipment in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of information networking principles and best practices as it relates to medical devices.
  • Ability to maintain and implement patch management solutions.
  • Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, and execute activities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop effective solutions and solve problems.
  • Requires ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis / solution generation process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to management, team members, and business and technology professionals.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, training, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Appetite for continuous learning of new skills that add value to projects and assignments.
  • Ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Requires ability to develop good working relationships with business sponsors, business partners and technical staff.
  • Requires a high level of expertise in a variety of systems and business areas.
  • Requires continuous learning of new skills that add value to projects and assignments.

Preferred:

  • One or more relevant technical/professional security certifications
