Responsibilities
Our Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in our Imaging department. The Rad Tech performs complete diagnostic radiography procedures on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of Medical Director and Director of Imaging Services. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, adherence to department policies, and with effective communication with physicians, staff and patients. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging exams inclusive of positioning patient, calibration of equipment, and documentation of findings. Provides emergency care, notifying appropriate personnel and ensures quality and patient safety is maintained. Assists patients with basic patient care needs.
What you need in this role:
Communication - The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people including, patients, nurses and Physicians
Patient Safety - The ability to protect our patients and limit other exposed areas that are not being scanned during the procedure.
Pay Attention to the small things - The ability to pay attention to details is a highly sought after skill in this role. The smallest detail of correctly positioned patient can make all the difference in a scan!
Great Documentation skills - The Rad Tech is expected to keep detailed records of any given procedure, so they can address concerns that patients may have about the testing process.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience Rad Tech 1:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited institution
- BLS through American Heart Association
- Licensed as Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
- Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R)
