Job Summary / Purpose
The Contract Specialist I is responsible for transaction-based contracting activities in support of CommonSpirit Health's system-wide IT contract portfolio. This position will manage the maintenance renewal process, help identify cost reduction opportunities, help ensure contract requests move through the process in a timely fashion and collaborate with internal customers and vendors to promote and/or resolve key issues related to IT contract management.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Development
- Monitor IT Contracting email box and other intake tools ensuring requests are properly routed in a timely fashion.
- Source Selection
- Assist with research for RFX initiatives.
- Contract Management
- Process vendor order forms including signature routing.
- Monitor contract requests to ensure they are being addressed.
- Proactively manage maintenance renewal process, engaging internal customers to verify contract usage and identify price negotiation and/or RFX opportunities. Present opportunities to senior level contracting staff.
- Forecast, Utilization, and Savings Management
- Identify cost savings opportunities and present to senior level contracting staff. Assist in cost cutting work efforts.
- Process and Project Management
- Participate in projects to improve internal business processes.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related program. 2 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, contracting, and/or project management.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Self-direction working with internal and external customers, and SSRM teams.
Ability to prepare and present data in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
