Responsibilities

Our inpatient Cardiac Cath lab has a new full time opening (4) 10-hour shifts per week + on call for an experienced Cath Lab RN.  The Cardiac Catheterization Lab is part of Virginia Mason's Cardiovascular Imaging and Intervention Center. This facility utilizes the most recent technology available, providing the latest in adult cardiac diagnostic and interventional services.

We have two labs performing 2,400 procedures annually, including 600 interventional studies. Virginia Mason is a national training site for the Philips Medical X-ray and archival systems.

Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Balloon angioplasty.
  • Coronary and left ventricular digital angiography.
  • Coronary intravascular ultrasound.
  • Right and left heart catheterization.
  • Rotational artherectomy.
  • Stent implantation.
  • Thrombectomy.

Responsibilities:
  • The registered nurse provides high quality, skilled nursing services
  • Assists the patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization.
  • Collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals, the Registered Nurse prepares the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care.

Qualifications
  • Current WA State RN license is required.
  • 1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care patients.
  • CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.

  • Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications: ACLS preferred.
