Responsibilities

The Palliative Care Inpatient Team at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle is looking for an experienced RN to join our team!  Palliative Care is specialized medical care for those living with serious illness. Our work aims to clarify the goals and values of our patients and align their care plans to these preferences. We also offer expertise in symptom management, psychosocial and spiritual support, and advanced care planning.

This position would support hospitalized patients in need of Palliative Care through direct team consultations with patients and families as well as coordinating the day to day operations of the Palliative Care team.   Responsibilities would include direct patient care through assessment, goals of care conversations, patient and family education, care planning, and emotional support.  Further responsibilities would include coordination of care for the patient and Palliative Care team.  This position would partner and provide cross coverage for our outpatient Palliative Care RN.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in care coordination, care management, discharge planning, or relevant/related experience
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse License

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
