Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join our team. The ideal candidate is experienced with IMRT, SBRT,  and HDR brachytherapy.  This individual should be adept at treating all disease sites especially breast cancer and head and neck cancer and is motivated to help grow and expand these programs. This individual will also have the potential to take on a leadership position if desired. Our practice provides fully integrated cancer care and is supported by a team of Hematologist/Oncologists, Surgeons, Pulmonologists, Radiologists, Pathologists and Primary Care. Virginia Mason has multidisciplinary patient clinics, multidisciplinary site specific prospective tumor boards and actively participates in NCI and industry sponsored clinical trials.

Our cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer. The Radiation Oncology department is supported by an experienced Radiation Oncology team that includes ABR certified Radiation Oncologists, most with over 10 years experience, ABR certified PhD Physicists, medical dosimetrists, registered nurses, radiation therapists and documentation and coding support. Equipment includes: RayStation treatment planning system (TPS), Brainlab radiosurgery TPS, VariSeed TPS (prostate seed implants), Varian GammaMedPlus HDR Brachytherapy (BrachyVision TPS), Varian Accelerators (Trilogy, TrueBeam, EDGE with Exac Trac patient monitoring system), MiM image registration tool, SDX breath-hold system, Varian RGSC breath hold system, Mosaiq EMR and Record/Verify system, and a GE 16-slice 4DCT scanner/simulator. Virginia Mason offers Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT/VMAT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), LDR and HDR prostate brachytherapy, High Dose Rate brachytherapy, and Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRS/SBRT). We are accredited by the American College of Radiology.

  • BE/BC Radiation Oncologist
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA 
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice 
  • Preferred experience is three plus years post residency
  • HDR brachytherapy experience and interest in gynecologica and breast procedures preferred 
  • Proven ability to work in an integrated multidisciplinary environment 
  • Has a commitment to patient and team-centered medicine 
  • Has outstanding interpersonal relationships with peers, administrators and staff 
  • Has leadership experience or potential
