Responsibilities
We have a new Charge RN role available with our Bailey Boushay House. This is a 12-hour day shift (6:30am shift start time) and does include working every other weekend. The BBH Charge RN plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care and functions during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff to ensure optimal flow and utilization of resources to meet demand for services with available staff. Addresses patient care or service problems as necessary. Clinically competent for patient populations served.
We offer a 35 bed Inpatient Complex Care department on two floors. We believe in treating all our clients with respect and dignity, key elements to build trusting relationships. We believe in putting the patient and their needs first, so every Bailey-Boushay clinician learns to do every job. Days are never the same and could include a mix of Nursing, serving lunch, helping a client with a shower, and engaging in a heart to heart conversation.
Specialize in serving patients with and without AIDS who require end of life care, including those with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), Huntington's disease or any illness limiting a person's life expectancy to less than three months. - Work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals including therapists, social workers, nursing assistants and dietary staff. - Provide around-the-clock nursing care focused on the needs of the patient, and the people in the patient's life. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is the highest in the state, which means we have hours throughout the day — instead of just minutes — to spend with each resident.- Social and cultural diversity is respected and honored by our staff members, who actively participate with families and loved ones to honor special wishes and needs during the patient's stay. - Patients facing the end of life are supported medically, emotionally, and spiritually in an environment that emphasizes quality of life. Qualifications
- Current Washington State licensure as an RN
- CPR certification is required every two years
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Understanding of chemical dependency.
- Excellent communication skills, listening skills, delivery of care with compassion and patience.
- A “Can-do” attitude
- Understanding of HIV/AIDS disease progression.
