Responsibilities

The therapist conducts individual and family therapy sessions, completes psychosocial assessments, facilitates psychotherapy groups , and coordinates the case management needs in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Board of Behavioral Sciences standards for practice.  Works cooperatively as part of the multi-disciplinary team.


Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of two years experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents and their families. Previous experience in an acute psychiatric child/adolescent setting or residential facility.

Education

Masters degree in associated field

Licensure

California license in clinical social work (LCSW) or marriage and family therapy (LMFT) or proof of license eligibility. Basic Life Support (CT CPRBLS)

Special Skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse race, ethnicity, and culture.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand standard English language with fluency. Ability to conduct family and group individual therapy. Bicultural preferred; and bilingual in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Cambodian, Tagalog or Vietnamese.
