Responsibilities
The Assistant Nurse Manager functions as a part of a leadership team designed to plan, organize, and control the health care process for applicable patient populations through the unit level management of assigned clinical process while assuming the responsibility and accountability for assigned shift operations. Continually works toward achieving patient satisfaction, productivity, financial and operational objectives.
The Assistant Nurse Manager coordinates unit responsibilities, and supervises and assigns duties to unit staff. Reports directly to the Department Director. Responsible for directing the patient care provided and the performance of unit associates on the respective shift. Responsibilities include: the staffing and scheduling, supervision, mentoring, and clinical guidance of nursing associates on the respective unit, and fiscal, clinical, and quality improvement oversight of the daily operations of the unit. Serves as a leader in Continuous Process Improvement activities.
ALL REGISTERED NURSES will render professional nursing care to patients, support medical care as directed by physicians. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Mary's Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The Assistant Nurse Manager shall support St. Mary's Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications
- ASN required
- At least two years clinical experience within speciality unit preferred
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership abilities
- Requires a minimum of one year experience in a leadership role (i.e., relief Charge Nurse).
