Job Summary:

The Nurse Resident will make the transition from practicing procedures as a student to becoming a professional nurse. You’ll build trust with your clinical preceptor and patients as you practice classroom concepts in real-time. Our residency program establishes your position as a reliable resource and helpful supporter of patients and families. 

This position is responsible for full participation in the didactic education and clinical orientation of the Residency program.  The incumbent will successfully complete all residency requirements including department orientation upon obtaining RN licensure.

Essential Duties:

• Attends and participates in all residency didactic training.
• Studies and successfully completes all requirements of the didactic portion of the residency.
• Participates in unit orientation after RN licensure is obtained.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

License/Certification:

• RN license issued by the State of Oregon within three (3) months of start date as a Nurse Resident or prior to starting floor orientation.

Experience:

• Knowledge of nursing process, pathophysiology, emergency procedures, pharmacology and safety issues.
• Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level.
• Ability to write and communicate well. 
• Ability to problem solve and able to work collaboratively with physician and patient. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position. 

Education:

• Successful completion of a registered nurse degree program.
