The Director, Delivery Service Infrastructure will lead the portfolio for the reengineering and transformation initiatives that will better the technology foundation enabling new business capabilities and improving patient and physician experience. The Technology Infrastructure team has begun transformational initiatives, including reengineering the CommonSpirit network, migrating ITD services to the Cloud, virtualizing services, and renewing our voice services, and this leader will be critical to their delivery. The Director will be responsible for all delivery aspects of the program portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope. Provides timely status reports to reflect project status, issues and risks. Overseeing program managers to orchestrate dependencies and manage efforts to complete project delivery. Ensure credible program reporting for completed and forecasted project schedules.

A successful candidate will have the ability to engage with key stakeholders and technology leaders to sequence program efforts and allocate resource demand in accordance to meet the project timelines and schedules. A technical background and knowledge of Infrastructure networking, cloud, security and endpoint is required. This person must have strong communication skills to resolve issues that impact program delivery and effectively communicate program status to leadership.

The Director will lead a multifaceted team of employees, contractors and managers. The Director will flex labor up and down as necessary to meet demands of the program initiatives. The Director, while working with other stakeholders and technology leaders, will operate in an agile method, ensuring that demands are met and solutions are continually refined as demands change.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership and drive project execution through proactive management of project deliverables from concept to launch
  • Champion project planning, communication, budgeting, scope and risk management for assigned project(s)
  • Lead and coordinate cross functional team discussions to ensure dependencies are properly identified and coordinated to achieve project milestones
  • Prepare program status reports for PMO and senior leadership reporting
  • Manage and resolve program RAID log and escalate risks / issues as need to leadership
  • Ensure proper staffing is in alignment with key areas, e.g. resource plans support project timing
  • Meet project investment targets (CAPEX) by tracking monthly expenditures vs. annual operating plan
  • Measure organizational performance, developing key performance indicators that drive the behaviors and results CommonSpirit seeks.


Required Education and Experience

● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a computer science, software engineering or related field.
● 10-15+ years of proven and progressive experience in IT including a minimum of 8-10+ years of hands on experience leading large IT programs
● 5+ years of managerial leadership in a larger enterprise/professional services company preferred.
● Strong analytical, research, problem solving, and evaluative thinking skills
● Understand the basics of Risk Management and assessing value vs. risk on initiatives
● Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills
● Strong communication skills - including ability to listen to the needs of others and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present effectively in both oral and written presentations to all levels in the organization
● Ability to drive change and initiatives by guiding and influencing senior business leadership

Required Licensure and Certifications

● CAPM or PMP certification

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

● Agile methodologies

This is a remote work opportunity.

A compensation range of $130K - $170K is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
