Job Summary / Purpose

The position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for pharmacy analyst staff; financial analyses; design, generation and interpretation of reports and dashboards; and presentation of key findings.

This position will provide guidance for standardization of analytic processes for the Pharmacy Enterprise including the 340B Program, Contract Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations and Pharmacy Business Analytics.  This position will oversee the integration and preparation of varied/disparate datasets, along with the creation of product categorization schemas necessary for providing actionable insights that link product cost, quality and safety together to enable successful patient and business outcomes.

Other responsibilities include providing data that is congruent, accurate and reliable. The position will propose innovative ways to look atproblems by using data mining approaches on the set of information available. The position is responsible for validating and presenting findings to stakeholders by expressing assumptions and validation work in a way that can be easily understood. 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    • Leadership
      • Develops strategy and business plans to optimize analytic processes.
      • Oversees financial analytics to support business and revenue forecasts.
      • Leadership for Pharmacy Enterprise analytics staff including the 340B Program, Contract Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations and pharmacy business analyst staff.
      • Provides guidance and serves as a mentor to team members providing analytic support.
      • Provides thought-leadership and oversight for the development of critical analytic solution(s) in support of pharmacy cost and utilization management goals.
      • Accountable for delivering reports on time. 
    • Analytic Support
      • Ensures standardization of analytic processes, data collection and analyses for the Pharmacy Enterprise, 340B Program, Contract Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations and Pharmacy Business Analytics.
      • Develops dashboards to provide actionable insights, linking product cost, quality, and outcomes
      • Performs analyses supporting pharmacy business lines and stakeholders to optimize programs and initiatives including the 340B Program and Contract Pharmacy (i.e. analyze WAC premiums, spend trends, identifies purchasing best practices).
      • Oversees, coordinates and actively contributes to data and analytics in facilitating the interrelationship within pharmacy management and other CommonSpirit Health departments as appropriate.
      • Works with IT and BI to design algorithms, logic, test hypotheses, and build models.
      • Ensures data architecture supports pharmacy business needs.
      • Qualifies what information can be stored or what information, internal or external to the organization may be used in support of the use case.
      • Supports financial and medication stewardship initiatives.  
        • Works closely with pharmacy and financial staff to develop meaningful analyses.
        • Works with vendors to obtain/validate cross-reference and price information. 
      • Performs financial analysis regarding utilization, spend and cost on various other projects and programs on an as needed basis.
    • Report generation and data governance
      • Ensures standardization of reports for the 340B Program, Contract Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations and Pharmacy Business Analytics.
      • Validates results and completes reports as requested (i.e. compliance tracker, realized savings report, utilization).
      • Maintains and updates related decision support system tables as needed to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.  
      • Defines data quality management; ensures integrity and accuracy of data, tools, and reports by conducting the appropriate audit steps and investigation.
        • Works in iterative processes within IT and validates findings.
        • Obtains and verifies accurate pharmacy data inputs for reports and tools (i.e. direct purchases reports, account reconciliation, vendor data feeds, savings initiatives, etc.).
        • Oversees preparation and integration of varied disparate data sets including oversight of pharmacy meta data (e.g. NDC). 
        • Evaluates pharmacy data in pharmacy information systems. 
    • Communication and collaboration
      • Prepares standardized presentation materials within the organization and across divisions for the 340B Program and Contract Pharmacy.
      • Ensures customer satisfaction and interpersonal communication in working with internal and external customers directly and remotely.
        • Liaison with facility and system functional, operational and project leads to review initiatives and programs and present findings.
        • Liaison with IT, BI and pharmacy informatics team to map data flow and support pharmacy standardization efforts.  
      • Collaborates with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information.
    • Communicates timely to end users concerning business analysis functions.
    • Coordinates the rollout of agreements with the contracting team and vendors.
    • Works with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.
    • Remains current with department and system process changes. 



Required Licensure and Certifications

Business Analysis (CBAP® or CCBA®) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA®) Certification preferred.
