Responsibilities
Job Summary:
This role will focus on facilitating and ensuring the consistent collection, management, interpretation, dissemination, and meaningful use of nursing-related data. In addition, this position supports the integration of clinical data systems, enhances data quality, and fosters the effective use of data in improving patient care and nursing practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing informatics, data management, and clinical workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standardized processes for collecting nursing-related data across various clinical settings
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness is entered into nursing databases, such as in the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators database and other databases as requested.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimize data entry workflows and system usability.
Data Interpretation and Analysis:
- Analyze nursing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform clinical decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present data findings to nursing leadership and other stakeholders.
- Provides analysis of data and systems, including functional and technical documentation.
Data Dissemination:
- Facilitate the timely dissemination of nursing data to relevant stakeholders, including nursing leadership, clinical teams, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards for data sharing and confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain a centralized repository for nursing data resources and reports.
Meaningful Use of Data:
- Promote the integration of nursing data into clinical practice to enhance patient outcomes, care efficiency, and nursing performance.
- Support the implementation of evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines using data-driven insights.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of nursing informatics initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Experience:
2-3 years of experience working with Nursing data and quality metrics
3-5 years of experience working with NDNQI and Nursing data/quality metrics and/or statistical analysis or related field 1-2 years experience working in a Magnet(TM) organization preferred
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field or equivalent professional experience
Master’s degree in Nursing or related field or equivalent professional experience preferred
Licensure:
Current AZ RN
Special Skills:
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace suite of applications; Primarily Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g. Excel, Tableau, and SQL) preferred
