Responsibilities

The Ivy Brain Tumor Center is a non-conventional, non-profit program offering state-of-the-art clinical trials for patients with most aggressive form of brain cancer. It is home to the largest collection of phase 0 trials for brain tumors in the world. Our multidisciplinary team of brain tumor specialists and scientists are accelerating drug discovery and precision medicine in neuro-oncology to identify the most promising first-in-class therapies for brain tumor patients.

We are currently recruiting a highly motivated and driven Postdoctoral Fellow, preferably a recent graduate (Ph.D., M.D., DVM), to join our translational team focusing on cutting edge clinical trials at the Ivy Center. A background in the field of Cancer Biology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Neurobiology, or Molecular and Cellular Biology will be considered. Prior experience in conducting drug treatment studies and knowledge of signal transduction pathways is preferred.

Job Description and Expectations:
* Candidate is expected to critically think, design experiments, perform clinical studies, and interpret data independently (this is a MUST).
* Develop clinically applicable assays for assessing pharmacodynamic endpoints and identifying biomarkers with immunohistochemistry, transcriptomics, or proteomics approaches.
* Perform biomarker analyses from preclinical studies with patient-derived cancer cells in murine models.
* Applicants should have strong communication skills in a team based environment and project management ability for overseeing multiple ongoing studies.
* Able to assist in writing grants and manuscripts, and present at scientific conferences.

Qualifications

Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor required.

Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study required.
Laboratory or clinical technical and/or interpersonal skills as appropriate required.

Familiar with basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate required.
