Responsibilities

SUMMARY - The Referral and Authorization Specialist is responsible for ensuring patients have been cleared for specialty service office visits; obtaining and issuing referrals for ancillary, consult, radiology or lab visits; receiving approvals for medication formularies, durable medical equipment, home health care and other items or services as needed.


Qualifications

MINIMUM

High School Diploma / GED

Minimum of one (1) year experience in Medical Office or other healthcare environment.

Strong customer service skills

PREFERRED

Bi-lingual preferred

Familiarity with the referral/authorization process and interacting with insurance carriers
