Processing of specimens for cytogenetic and FISH analysis
Tissue culture and harvest of blood, bone marrow, solid tumor tissue
Cytogenetic and FISH analysis
Responsibility to help write reports with correct ISCN nomenclature
Laboratory quality assurance and quality control participation
Provide assistance to cytogenetic technologist I and trainees in cytogenetics and FISH
Work with supervisor and Medical Director in organizing the workflow
Participate in research projects and validations
- Bachelor's degree
- ASCP certification in cytogenetics
- Two years clinical laboratory experience as certified cytogenetic technologist.
- Experience with cytogenetic procedures
- Experience with FISH procedures
