As our Obstetrical Emergency Department Triage Nurse, you’ll need to appreciate that routine is never routine. We have wonderful days where we get to be with patients through huge milestones in their lives. We also have hard days, being with patients as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding, and above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency. You’re calm. You’re in control. You’re handling the situation.
About Us
CUMC-Bergan Mercy OBED is an Obstetrical Emergency Department with 7 beds. The OBED is connected to a Labor and Delivery department with 16 birthing beds, 9 bed antepartum unit and 3 operating rooms. We have a team of nurses, midwives, Family Medicine, OB/GYN physicians and MFM caring for a normal to high risk pregnancy. We care for OB patients that need higher risk evaluation, serves around 400 patients a month, and delivers approximately 3600 babies a year. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 137 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Utilize critical thinking and expertise to triage and provide care for pregnant patients seeking emergency care in our Obstetrics Emergency Department.
- Partner with residents and physicians to develop and carry out treatment plans for a variety of clinical presentations in pregnancy.
- Fetal assessment and monitoring.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
Qualifications
We are offering a $20,000 Sign on Bonus and up to $10,000 in student loan repayment assistance to new hires who meet the following eligibility requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active Registered Nurse Licensure that allows you to practice in our state
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 + years’ experience as an Labor & Delivery Nurse
- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB)
