Are you a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for Gastrointestinal (GI) nursing or have an interest in learning GI? If so, CHI Health - CUMC-Bergan is currently seeking a dedicated GI RN to join our dynamic procedural team. As a GI Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This position requires strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and the ability to provide personalized and compassionate care to patients and their families.


  • Prepare procedural suite for diagnostic, screening, and advanced procedures.

  • Perform initial patient assessments, including health history and physical examinations

  • Circulating procedures and directly assisting providers with utilizing endoscopic instruments, devices, and supplies.

  • Administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and responding to changes in patient condition.

  • Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records.

  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and post-procedure care.

  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients undergoing procedures or treatments

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with gastrointestinal disorders

  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment

  • Completion of a RN program

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license 

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS after 5 months.

  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
