Responsibilities
  1. Encourages an environment where patients can solve problems and try out new behaviors while supporting the development of uniqueness and acceptable self-expression in a trauma-informed care setting.
  2. Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment. Maintains a secure environment and acts as a resource for emergency situations.
  3. Provides trauma informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion room.
  4. Effectively communicates in a multicultural context using both verbal and written techniques. Participates in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, safety, security, and infection control programs, program development and implementation, and all additional training that leadership assigns in order to maintain appropriate communication networks and harmonious working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments.
  5. Utilizes HSS techniques for effective aggression management and to avoid and/or reduce the use of restraints and/or seclusion. Utilize HSS techniques for positive interpersonal skills, conflict management, problem solving, critical thinking and trauma informed care to promote development of each individual.
  6. Documents objective observations of but not limited to patient behaviors, programing involvement, social interactions and mental status.
  7. Carries out and completes assigned tasks within the scope of training and abilities as directed by leadership. This includes but not limited to arriving and leaving in a timely manner, representing self in a professional manner i.e. appropriate dress attire in Ceil blue scrubs.
  8. Will mentor and serve as a resource for staff in addition to precepting new MHTs. Will collaborate with the therapist and nurse on managing the daily tasks and environment. demonstrates great teamwork at all times by contributing to the creation of new programming curricula, carrying out duties that will foster a positive workplace culture, and upholding the company's basic values consistently. Supports patients in meeting their goals and provide professional support and constructive interactions to promote emotional stability and increase skills to cope with and adapt to challenges.
  9. Assists in ensuring that the therapeutic group schedule is followed by working with the team to supervise the milue.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or Mental Health Tech Certification from either American Medical Certification Association or National Career
    Certification Board.
  • PRTF must be 21 years or older.
  • BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire.
  • Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment:
    -HHS Certification
    -Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting – APS- IA & NE
    -First Aid

A 64-bed adult psychiatric facility, Lasting Hope Recovery Center is a place of healing. All of the rooms are private. At Lasting Hope Recovery Center, patients find comfort and a team of caring professionals working for them. Often, mental illness and substance abuse occur at the same time. CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center offers an entire range of treatment and prevention services to meet the needs of patients experiencing both challenges. Treatment is built on personal strengths and support systems that treat individuals experiencing these illnesses.
