Program Coordinator - Community & School Health Initiative

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Program Coordinator to oversee the implementation and management of a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Awareness Grant. This program aims to increase awareness, provide resources, and deliver community-based interventions to address substance abuse and mental health challenges. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the program’s success by managing day-to-day operations, coordinating outreach efforts, and maintaining compliance with grant requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Awareness Grant, ensuring that all program goals and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate community outreach efforts, including organizing events, workshops, and training sessions focused on substance abuse prevention and mental health awareness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance program visibility and impact.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities, including preparing progress reports and submitting documentation to comply with grant guidelines.
- Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure that all grant-related financial activities align with the approved budget.
- Supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of program services.
- Collaborate with external evaluators and program staff to collect, analyze, and report on data related to program outcomes and effectiveness.
- Create and distribute educational materials and resources on substance abuse prevention and mental health awareness, including social media content, brochures, and newsletters.
- Facilitate regular meetings with program stakeholders, including staff, community partners, and advisory committees, to review progress and address challenges.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including timelines, budgets, and reporting procedures.
- Represent the program at community events, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness of the program’s mission and objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience implementing community-based programs developing outreach strategies collaborating with community-based organizations and report writing.
- BS/BA degree required or 5 years’ experience in community based programs or social services.
- Health Administration Public Health or Public Policy degree preferred. Master's degree preferred.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting or accounting.
- Knowledge of local community agencies and resources.
- Ability to organize projects and establish priorities.
- Creative and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel locally for outreach events (some evenings and weekends).
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Must maintain current Fire Safety card; card required within 90 days of hire.
Special Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace products Zoom and Canva.
- Presentation and public speaking skills.
