Responsibilities
Provides physical therapy techniques to relieve pain, develop or restore functions using physical means according to the plan of care.
Functions independently to identify, collect and develop a database of biophysical, environmental, self care, educational, emotional and discharge planning needs for patients in order to establish priorities for patients in accordance with the patient's age, disorder and ethnic background. Identifies those patients requiring specialized therapy services, including preventative and rehabilitative care, those requiring physical, speech and occupational therapy services, home health aide services and medical social worker services. Performs assessment functions including the patient's psychosocial, physical functional and resources systems as required to assure competent therapy care provision. Applies prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests in the assessment phase.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Must possess and maintain a current Physical Therapist license with the State of California
- Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Preferred:
- Previous home care experience
- Second language skills in Spanish
