Job Duties:
- Tests patient samples through various chemical, microscopic, serological, and bacteriologic techniques
- Assists management with the maintenance of appropriate policies, procedures and equipment as requested
- Conducts orientation and training of new personnel and monitors performance of appropriate personnel in the section of primary responsibility as requested
- Operates and maintains automated equipment and maintains an adequate inventory of departmental supplies
- Performs quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement indicators routinely in the department
- Assists in checking calculations, transcriptions, quality control, and quality assurance reports as requested
- Responsible for daily workflow to ensure timely and efficient departmental operations
- Participates in professional growth by maintaining knowledge of lab specific policies and procedures and taking advantage of the available educational opportunities
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner
Salary: $47.75/ hr
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related. Employer will accept a foreign equivalent degree if in the same field.
Experience Requirements:
- 24 months of experience in job offered, Medical Technologist, Medical Technologist Intern, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
- Working in different sections of the Laboratory such as Serology, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy/Information, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy (Parasitology/ Urinalysis), and Bacteriology.
- Collecting blood, receiving urine, stool, and other specimens, and processing them with proper adherence to quality assurance programs of the laboratory.
- Examine secretions and excretions of the human body by various electronics, chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, hematological, serologic, and immunologic procedures and techniques either manual or automated.
- Evaluate and perform corrective actions using Quality Control specimens on various clinical instruments.
- Evaluate and perform corrective actions using Quality Control specimens on various clinical instruments. Operating the following laboratory equipment: Yumizen H500, PATHFAST Cardiac Biomarker Analyzer, Audicom AC9800 Automatic Electrolyte Analyzer, Sinnowa BS200 Semi-automated Chemistry Analyzer, Clover A1C Self-analyzer, Uryxxon 500 Urine Strip Reader, and Biobase Safety Cabinet (BSL-2).
- Must have a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) License from the California Department of Public Health
- Must have an International Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
