CHI St. Joseph Health Madison Hospital is located Madisonville TX and is a 30 bed critical access hospital. Our Emergency Room consists of 5 beds.
Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY
- Operates a variety of ionizing radiation producing equipment to ensure effective, accurate and timely delivery of quality patient care.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- ESSENTIAL
- Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family. Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience.
- Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of x-ray and CT scanners and their related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for appropriate procedure using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
- Assist physician with interventional imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
- Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and Radiologist to insure an effective and harmonious working environment.
- Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.
- Performs other appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- Required: Associate degree or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree (e.g. BA, BS, BSN, BSW)
- Major
- Required: Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
- Preferred: Business, Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
- Experience
- Required: Two to three years
- Preferred: Three to five years
- Skills
- Required: Rad tech skill set; CT tech skill set.
- Preferred: Rad tech skill set; advanced CT tech skill set.
- Licensure/Certifications
- Required: ARRT(R)/MRT
- Preferred: ARRT(R) (CT)/MRT
