Responsibilities

As a Medical Lab Technician you will accurately analyze and report all laboratory tests ordered by the Medical Staff in a timely and efficient manner to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, adherence to department policies, and with effective communication with physicians, staff and patients. Displays professional, safe conduct in all interactions. Maintains positive working relationships with staff, other departments, physicians and peers. Displays conduct in support of CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Mission & Vision. Connect with CHI today!


Qualifications

Education Level

Required: 

1. High School Diploma/equivalent &

*Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical laboratory experience to qualify for high complexity testing under CLIA regulations.

OR

2. Associate’s Degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or Chemical, Physical, Biological Science

Licensure/

Certification

Required:

Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through a nationally recognized accredited agency (i.e. AMT, ASCP, ABOR)

Preferred:

BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)

Experience

Required:

None -

*Unless minimum of two (2) years’ clinical laboratory experience to qualify for high complexity testing under CLIA regulations was accepted in lieu of required Associate’s Degree level education as stated above.
