Responsibilities

The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for conducting a pre-surgical assessment addressing whether the candidate is adequately prepared from a psychological perspective to proceed with bariatric surgery or determine if some level of intervention is needed. Clinician must be registered with the appropriate licensing board in order to provide patients with clinical supervision of psychology and social work.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Current C.A.  License as an M.F. T., L.C.S.W. or a Psychologist

  • Expert knowledge of psychological and social issues.

  • Successful experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Basic Life Support AHA 

  • CA Driver's License

  • Must be able to communicate with others to gather information, establish and maintain filing system, use computers for scheduling and payroll management, and use phone, fax, and personal computer.

Preferred

  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.
