Overview

As a Adult Psych Nurse at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, offers a completely different experience than caring for patients with only physical health-related problems. It’s easy to forget that, in some cases, a patient’s decline in physical health can negatively impact their mental health as well, but that doesn’t mean their treatment is any less complex. Psych nursing offers skilled nurses the opportunity to care for vulnerable patients and themselves through self-reflection, and introspection. In essence, these nurses and patients find strength in each other.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others - with a patient-first mindset. Keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency support your career advancement and you thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment where you will rarely experience the same day twice.
