Overview

The Director of Med Surg will assume administrative responsibility for all functions of the Medical Surgical unit on a 24-hour basis. Implements the mission, goals, and standards for BRHS and Patient Care Services (PCS) within the defined areas of responsibility, coordinates activities between designated areas, and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. Facilitates an atmosphere of participative management and the development of collegial relationships among staff and other health care team members. Progressive experience in nursing management.

Offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and comprehensive treatment services our hospital is home to a 154-bed patient tower level III trauma center advanced cardiac care center and full-service multidisciplinary cancer center. Our team consists of over 100 board-certified physicians and nearly 600 highly skilled employees to meet our patients’ medical needs. Responsibilities
  • the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.
  • Interpreting policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.
  • Monitorring the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.
  • Providing nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience. Previous supervisory experience or five (5) years of management experience at the nurse manager level or above preferred. 

  • ACLS & NVCI within six months of hire or transfer TNCC within one year of hire or transfer ENPC or PALS within one year of hire or transfer
