AmeriMed provides home infusion therapy services to help patients safely transition care to their home, alleviating long and unnecessary stays in the hospital. Through our experienced and professional pharmacy team at AmeriMed we provide total care for our patients. Working directly with physicians, we are able to manage a variety of diseases and conditions in a homecare setting. Our goal is to help each patient be an active participant in their care. Through education and partnership with each patient and their caregivers, we teach our patients how to effectively manage their therapy and provide ongoing oversight, coordination and support throughout their therap


Responsibilities

AmeriMed Infusion Pharmacy in Indianapolis, Indiana is Now Hiring a Fulltime Compound Pharmacy Technician II with Company Employee Benefits.

The Compound Pharmacy Technician, under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist, measures medications and assists in the compounding of medication, prepares and assembles supplies and medication for delivery, maintains patient records, and utilizes administrative and clinical knowledge to assist Pharmacists as they provide medication and other health care products to patients.

  • Maintains all prescription and compounding logs, delivery manifests and any other documents or files as determined by the Pharmacy Manager or the Director, Operations and Pharmacist in charge.

  • Cleans the pharmacy, compounding area and warehouse per policy and procedure.

  •  Cleans and calibrates IV pumps and poles and compounding equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines and policy and procedures.

  • Performs any related aseptic validation testing procedures and maintains a record of those results.

  • Maintains the quality control logs and notebook.

  • Performs daily temperature checks on refrigerators, freezer and drug storage areas and documents
    appropriately.

  • Assists with biohazard waste disposal in accordance with EPA, OSHA, state and federal guidelines.

  • Assists with the orientation and training of pharmacy personnel.

  • Communicates concerns, questions and complaints or problems reported from patients and caregivers to appropriate branch leadership.

  • Accurately prepares and assembles patient specific supplies for delivery. Assembles ancillary supply prepackaging as directed.
  • Assists with retrieval and documentation of lab results as needed for patient assessment.
  • Programs or double checks IV pump settings for accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Assists with receiving and stocking supplies and return processing of medications and supplies purchased.
  • Assists with packaging of patient medication and supplies for delivery.
  • Performs Customer Service Representative (CSR) duties when requested by branch leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the Indiana Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Active ExCPT Certification provided by the National Healthcareer Association; or CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • IV compounding experience preferred
  • Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Two years Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications.
  • Participate in weekend rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
