Personnel assigned on shifts to carry out planned activities of the security program as well as any authorized duties relating to emergency management functions. 

  • Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan. 
  • Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. 
  • Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches. 
  • Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud. 
  • Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Officer. 
  • Maintains a high level of visibility and provides an armed presence in the Emergency Department and Siena Hello Desk. 
  • Conducts routine safety patrols of assigned areas reporting safety and security issues within those areas. 
  • Responds to calls for Security presence within the Emergency Department and assists staff as requested. 


Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a security officer involving extensive public contact.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Poses a valid State Driver's License or have the ability to obtain prior to hire date. = DRV LIC.
  • CT CCW = Certified to Carry Concealed Weapon or applicable state license. Must have a current CCW if required or able to produce proof of application, awaiting their approved CCW hard card.
  • Essential Cognitive Functions - Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; synthesize, coordinate and analyste data, perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace approrporate to given workload; perform complex and varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; get along with co-worers and peers; understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively; understand and remember detailed instructions; make independent deicsions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information; accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control and planning.
